Remember Marine Sgt. Brandon Morgan , who in 2012 returned home from Afghanistan to Hawaii and jumped into partner Dalan Wells' arms ? A friend posted their welcome-home kiss to Facebook and the smooch went viral. "I can only imagine that it went viral because we were the first [military] men to kiss," Morgan told me at the time. A few days ago, Morgan proposed to Wells and their engagement video (including another kiss) was posted to YouTube. Wells said yes. "The sound is bad, but what I was saying was 'with the repeal of DOMA or not, will you do me the honor of spending your life with me,'" Morgan wrote on YouTube.

The New York Times reported: The Treasury Department’s inspector general told senior Treasury officials in June 2012 he was auditing the Internal Revenue Service’s screening of politically active organizations seeking tax exemptions, disclosing for the first time on Friday that Obama administration officials were aware of the matter during the presidential campaign year. At the first Congressional hearing into the I.R.S. scandal, J. Russell George, the Treasury inspector general for tax administration, told members of the House Ways and Means Committee that he informed the Treasury’s general counsel of his audit on June 4, and Deputy Treasury Secretary Neal Wolin “shortly thereafter.” It remained unclear how much the disclosure would affect the broader debate over the I.R.S.’s problems. Despite this, IRS Commissioner Douglas Shulman told Congress in 2012 that the IRS was not targeting groups based on their political views . The AP reported: A federal watchdog’s upcoming report says senior Internal Revenue Service officials knew agents were targeting tea party groups in 2011. The disclosure contradicts public statements by former IRS Commissioner Douglas Shulman, who repeatedly assured Congress that conservative groups were not targeted. On Friday, the IRS apologized for what it acknowledged was “inappropriate” targeting of conservative political groups during the 2012 election to see if those groups were violating their tax-exempt status. The Treasury’s inspector general for tax administration is expected to release the results of a nearly yearlong investigation in the coming week. The Associated Press obtained part of the draft report. That report says the head of the IRS division that oversees tax-exempt groups learned that groups were being targeted in June 2011. During the 2012 election campaign, some conservative groups complained that the Internal Revenue Service was applying increased scrutiny to political committees supporting conservative candidates when applying for tax-exempt status. It turns out that they were right. A spokesperson for the IRS confirmed on Friday that conservative groups were targeted by the tax collection agency for additional scrutiny during that election cycle. Today, Lois Lerner , the head of the IRS unit which overseas tax exemption applications confirmed that organizations which included the words “tea party” or “patriot” in their applications were singled out for additional scrutiny. She described the Cincinnati-based staff who engaged in these practices as being “ low level .” In 2012, the IRS provided ProPublica with a copy of an application for tax exempt status for Karl Rove ’s conservative political action committee, Crossroads GPS. At the time, the PAC’s tax exemption application had not yet been approved. Alinsky Rule #13 : “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” In 2010 Republicans thundered into the majority in the House of Representatives, making historic gains by a proportion not seen in more than 70 years. The party won more than 60 seats. This was completely due to the enthusiasm of the Tea Party movement in response to the overreach of the Democratic leaders. Democrats and the Obama Administration knew they had to stop the Tea Party to win in 2012 so they organized, made their plans and took action. They planned their attack based on Alinsky’s 13th rule of radicalism: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it. Democrats and the corrupt media isolated the Tea Party. They said Tea Party members were racists, radicals and Nazis. It was an all-out assault. And. just to be sure they were not a problem, the Obama Administration and IRS tied Tea Party groups up in paperwork and audits. Today the Internal Revenue Service admitted that they targeted conservative groups for additional reviews during the 2012 elections – At least 75 groups were targeted. Organizations were singled out because they included the words “tea party” or “patriot” in their applications for tax-exempt status. It was a brilliant strategy. The Tea Party was not a factor and Obama won a second term thanks Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals.
