Another great piece of music that I can’t find sheet music to (there’s the Bob Dylan version, but I like this one on piano more). So once again, me and MuseScore spent an hour or so putting this sheet together – I think it’s about 99% accurate. Enjoy! Sheet music: docs.google.com What you see at the beginning is my best run. Unfortunately, at around the 3 minute mark of that run my mom barged in the door. So, to finish it out, I stitched on the ending of an earlier, less satisfactory run. This was my only opportunity to record on a good piano in the foreseeable future :/

Groundhog Day 2013: How accurate is Punxsutawney Phil?

Happy Groundhog Day! Groundhog Day is February 2. The day each year when we wait for the famous groundhog Punxsutawney Phil to emerge and provide a forecast for the late winter and early spring ahead. If he sees his shadow, we will get six more weeks of winter. If he doesn’t see his shadow, we will get an early spring. [Editor's Note: Phil failed to see his shadow on this Groundhog Day 2013. According to the Groundhog legend, that means an early spring] How accurate is Punxsutawney Phil? I am all for a meteorological holiday that celebrates weather or weather pattern changes, but are we going overboard? Should we listen to a groundhog to predict our late winter forecast? Get nervous Punxsutawney Phil, the pressure is all on you now! Two stars in Scorpius were Pawnee version of Groundhog Day Everything you need to know: Groundhog Day Original Image Credit: alemaxale. According to groundhog.org , Punxsutawney Phil has seen his shadow 100 out of 116 times. Back in the late 1800s, there was a lull in activity regarding the groundhog’s schedule where there was no report. By 1900, the tradition officially began and we’ve been wondering since then if this lovely creature will see his shadow. Last year, Punxsutawney Phil did a horrible job “forecasting” our pattern when he did see his shadow, thus giving us “six more weeks of winter.” In reality, that never occurred as the contiguous United States had its fourth warmest winter on record.
Jobs Report Too Good to Be True? Wealth Manager Says, ‘No Way in the World These Numbers Are Accurate’

Reaction to the new jobs report on FBN's 'Varney & Company' ================================================================================================== Labor report reflecting falling jobless rate stirs campaign firestorm Published October 05, 2012 | FoxNews.com In the homestretch of a presidential race where every minute shift in the economy can translate into potential votes, both campaigns took aim Friday at the Labor Department's estimate that the jobless rate fell below 8 percent for the first time in nearly four years. President Obama's team touted the numbers as a sign the economy is improving. Mitt Romney, along with several economists, expressed deep skepticism about the report. The data even elicited a conspiracy theory from former General Electric CEO Jack Welch, who tweeted: "Unbelievable jobs numbers..these Chicago guys will do anything..can't debate so change numbers." The Labor Department reported that the rate dipped in September from 8.1 percent to 7.8 percent. It was a glimmer of good news for Obama, who's trying to recover from a disappointing debate performance and whose central argument is that the economy is moving in the right direction. "This morning, we found out that the unemployment rate has fallen to its lowest level since I took office," Obama said at a Virginia rally Friday. "It's a reminder that this country has come too far to turn back now. … We've made too much progress to return to the

As we move closer to Apple’s September 12 media event, and further details of what is likely to be announced by the firm bubble to the surface of the rumor mill, a pretty clear picture of what the sixth-generation iPhone (expected to be called “iPhone 5” – based on Apple’s press invite ) may offer, is starting to come into view. Made with Google SketchUp by Will Hains , the following is a CAD (Computer-Aided Drawing) of Apple’s next-generation iPhone that we came across this weekend. Part of a series of other sketches Hains himself made with the goal of providing an accurate depiction of the look and feel of Apple’s next iPhone , the renders specifically caught our eye as they appear to match up almost perfectly with those (allegedly) “leaked” parts we’ve been seen over the past several months – (not to mention that heavily-rumored “close-to-4-inch” display ) Of course, the mock-up doesn’t necessarily follow the idea that Apple will drop its 30-pin dock connector for a smaller 9-pin variant – but we believe that’s largely irrelevant , considering there are many people out there (including case manufacturers) who believe the standard will remain the same — and if the 30-pin connector stays, so do those smaller speakers, which would make the drawing on-point. Describing the drawing, Hains writes: One thing that struck me about the iPad 2 design was that although it was about a third thinner than the first-generation iPad, it felt m

Sighting in a target through the scope of a high-caliber rifle can be a bit more complicated then it sounds — snipers have to account for cross-winds, range and a whole host of external factors that could put their projectile off course. It isn't easy, and the required calculations can seriously slow down a shooter's time to trigger. The solution? High tech laser-equipped sniper scopes, of cours

Surprise: Obama‘s ’tax cut’ claims are less than accurate

“We said working folks deserved a break, so within one month of me taking office, we signed into law the biggest middle-class tax cut in history, putting more money into your pockets.” — Barack Obama, 9/5/11 Wow. Really? The "biggest middle-class tax cut in history "? That would be quite an accomplishment, Barack Obama… if only it were the truth . WaPo’s Glenn Kessler lays the inconvenient facts: We took an informal survey in our office and asked people what they thought the president’s statement meant. Everyone agreed he was claiming the biggest tax cut in terms of dollars. Imagine our surprise when the White House responded that he wasn’t talking about dollars at all. “The point the president was making that is there is not a tax cut that has been enjoyed by such a broad section of the population,” an administration official said, pointing to a report that said that 95 percent of working families received some kind of tax cut under the Making Work Pay provision in his stimulus bill. Huh? In other words, this isn’t about the size of the tax cut, but about the fact that every working family, except those making more than $ 190,000, received as much as $ 800 in tax cuts. So, as Ed Morrissey rightly points out , Obama’s predecessor could theoretically pass a $ 1 tax cut for every American and claim the mantle for Obama’s dubious "record" of 95 percent. And if this fact weren’t a big enough slap in the face from the Obama White House
