Democrat Melowese Richardson candidly admitted to Cincinnati’s Channel 9 in February that she voted twice in the 2012 election. “I’ll fight it for Mr. Obama and Mr. Obama’s right to sit as president of the United States,” she proclaimed in the interview. Today Melowese Richardson was convicted of felony voter fraud. She faces up to six years in prison. Cincinnati.com reported, via True the Vote : Long-time Hamilton County poll worker Melowese Richardson was convicted Monday of illegal voting and could go to prison for up to six years for it. Richardson, 58, of Madisonville, pleaded no contest to four counts of illegal voting – including voting three times for a relative who has been in a coma since 2003 – in exchange for prosecutors dropping four other illegal voting charges. Common Pleas Court Judge Robert Ruehlman immediately convicted her, making her a felon. A Hamilton County poll worker since 1998, Richardson admitted she voted illegally in the 2008, 2011 and 2012 elections. Related… One in five registered Ohio voters is bogus.

It's been a LONG time coming, but justice has finally been served! Jodi Arias —who killed her one-time boyfriend, Travis Alexander , over 5 years ago— was convicted of first degree murder this afternoon and will now face the possibility of the death penalty. Jodi only admitted earlier this year that she shot, nearly decapitated, and then stabbed her lover 27 times on June 4, 2008 after initially blaming his death on masked home invaders. While the prosecution painted the pretty 32-year-old brunette as a spiteful ex who calculated her revenge out of jealousy, Jodi claimed she murdered Travis out of self defense. When she testified, Jodi insisted that Travis was a "bully," but she couldn't quite piece together what happened during the kill, with various changes in her story throughout the trial. 12 jurors deliberated and came to the unanimous decision after listening to testimony throughout the week. The aggravation trial will begin tommorow to determine whether or not Jodi will in fact get the death penalty.

Dem Officials Convicted of Fraud in Getting Obama, Clinton on 2008 Ballot

In 2008, both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton got on the ballot illegally in the presidential primary in Indiana. On Thursday, two Democratic political operatives were convicted on all counts relating to the scheme. Former St. Joseph County Democratic party Chairman Butch Morgan Jr. was found guilty of felony conspiracy counts to commit petition fraud and forgery, and former county Board of Elections worker Dustin Blythe was found guilty of felony forgery counts and falsely making a petition. It was apparently a plan hatched by Morgan, who told Democratic officials and workers to fake the names and signatures on petitions so Obama and Clinton would be eligible for the state ballot. Blythe forged scores of names on the petitions. Former Board of Registration worker Lucas Burkett was originally part of the scheme but then quit; he waited three years before he came clean with the plan. Meanwhile, Obama and Clinton, who both could have been thrown off the ballot if the petitions had been challenged, marched merrily on. In Indiana, presidential candidates need 500 signatures from each of the state's nine congressional districts to qualify for the ballot. With the help of the illegal plot, both candidates managed to garner enough signatures in St. Joseph County, which is the 2nd Congressional district; Obama netted 534 signatures, Clinton, 704. An Indiana State Police investigator said the police perused the Obama petitions and, "sele

Jerry Brown pardons 65 convicted criminals on eve of Easter

On the day before Easter, Gov. Jerry Brown today pardoned 65 people who served sentences years ago for various crimes. The announcement was similar to one the Democratic governor made on Christmas Eve, when Brown issued the majority of the 128 pardons he granted last year. The people pardoned today were released from custody more than a decade ago and have not committed any crimes since being released, according to the governor's office. Most of the pardons were for drug or property crimes, though the group includes one murderer and two people convicted in manslaughter cases. Brown is far more forgiving than his predecessors. Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger commuted 10 sentences and pardoned just 16 people while in office. Schwarzenegger's Democratic predecessor, Gray Davis , granted no pardons. A pardon is of symbolic significance to recipients. It can also help in job applications and allows an ex-felon in most cases to own a gun. PHOTO CREDIT : Gov. Obama Pardons Man Convicted On Unregistered Firearm Charges

Among the 17 people included in President Obama ‘s first series of presidential pardons, one man is receiving clemency for his conviction of possessing an unregistered firearm. Georgia resident Larry Wayne Thornton was sentenced to four years probation for “possession of an unregistered firearm” and “possession of a firearm without a serial number.” He is the only person with a gun-related charge on the president’s list of pardoned individuals. The Washington Examiner notes that the pardon may seem peculiar given how “Obama is emphasizing, as part of his gun control push, the need to know who is buying weapons.” Back in January, the president made clear his intention to make it tougher to purchase firearms without licensed proof of not being a felon or legally prohibited from owning such a weapon. Other pardoned individuals include one woman convicted of “aiding and abetting wire fraud,” a man convicted of “conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and distribution of a controlled substance (cocaine),” and another man brought up on charges of “conspiracy to traffic counterfeit goods.” [h/t The Washington Examiner ] – – >> Follow Andrew Kirell (@AndrewKirell) on Twitter

Penn State University is not off the hook either. Business Week speculates that the university may have to compensate the victims of the abuse. After decades of abuse, the justice finally arrived for the victims. I’m happy to witness this day, yet still have lingering disgust that a University allowed this abusive environment to fester within its walls. The perpetrator has been stopped, and justice meted out; attention should now focus on how a University and athletic department could create as safe environment for sexual predator. Jerry Sandusky may have been the one to physically abuse children, but he was in an environment where he could do so with impunity. What changes has the University put into place, outside of firing people, to prevent this from happening again? American Power has more on this story . Ditto for the Philadelphia Catholic Church predators.
