Sean Hannity was fired up tonight by the Obama administration spending millions of taxpayer dollars on vacations and unnecessary federal programs, including a State Department program protecting transgendered people that costs $ 450,000. He contrasted this and Obama’s reportedly costly trip to Africa with the cuts to things like White House tours the administration made in the wake of sequestration. Democratic strategist Joe Trippi disputed the numbers Hannity was throwing out, though he did admit that perhaps the optics of Obama’s trip were not ideal. RELATED: Schieffer Grills Obama’s Chief Of Staff About $ 60 Million Africa Trip: ‘Worth It In Time Of Sequestration?’ Trippi shot down the outrage over Obama’s Africa trip by reminding Hannity that the last time conservatives were outraged over the costs of a presidential trip, they were dead wrong . He did add, “I wouldn’t have scheduled the trip right now.” Hannity noted that the costs of Obama’s Africa trip were published in The Washington Post , not exactly a conservative publication. Trippi did defend Obama’s trip by citing African economic growth and noting how George W. Bush made trips to Texas and Africa. “They went on safari!” Jenny Beth Martin , a tea party leader, said that the president should have security, but “we can’t afford this!” Hannity brought up the State Department transgender program, to which Trippi said everyone’s rights should be protected. I have written so many columns about the Syrian civil war they are like rings on a tree stump — a way of gauging Barack Obama’s steadfast inaction and what the cost has been. In one of my first columns about that war, I called on the administration to arm the rebels and impose a no-fly zone, grounding Bashar al-Assad’s attack helicopters and his airplanes. At that point — March 27, 2012 — the war had taken the lives of 10,000 Syrians. Read full article >>

In Syria Decision, Obama’s Hypocrisy is Complete

With the announcement Thursday that the U.S. will send weapons to rebel forces in the Syrian civil war, President Barack Obama's hypocrisy on war is now complete. When he directed U.S. forces to join the fight against Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi, President Obama had no authorization from Congress. But he had the support of the UN Security Council, which George W. Bush–as the left constantly noted–did not in Iraq. However, in Syria, President Obama has no formal UN support at all. Though the decrepit UN Human Rights Council has condemned the Syrian government, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay has criticized all external powers supplying weapons to the conflict. The UN General Assembly has only backed a political solution, and with Russia, which backs the regime, in the Security Council there is no chance for action there. None of this is to say that the United Nations should be the judge of whether, when and how the United States uses military force or provides military assistance. Yet that is the standard that Obama and the anti-war left set when opposing the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq. In praising the war effort in Libya, President Obama has proudly contrasted it to the Iraq War, noting that in Libya the UN guided "the collective will to act." Another criticism then-Sen. Obama made of the Iraq War, notably in his infamous and contrived 2002 anti-war speech , was that it lacked a "clear rationale." The

This ought to make your day. Barack Obama’s massive “mother of all databases” includes information on your children. Barack Obama reads a book about himself to a group of children ages 3 to 5 back in 2011. ( USA Today ) Tea Party Nation reported: Speaking of databases, there’s one out there that’s more than a little bit disturbing. It’s but one more devious plan created by none other than Barack Hussein Obama to store personal information on our children. No wonder Maxine Water spouted off that Obama’s database knew everything about everybody – this is one of the few times that Maxine was telling the truth. Phyllis Schlafly warned about this back in September 2009 – Training Kids to Be Obama’s Servants President Obama’s nearly trillion-dollar Stimulus law designates $ 128 billion for education, so it’s no surprise that tight strings are attached. Buried in the fine print is an ominous requirement to build a national electronic database of all children. Any state that receives federal education funds must “establish a longitudinal data system that includes the elements described in . . . the America COMPETES Act.” That law, passed a couple of years ago, sets out the goal of longitudinal databasing of “student-level enrollment, demographic, and program participation information” for all students from preschool through postsecondary education. This electronic database will contain “yearly test records of individual students,” “a teac

During a discussion about Syria on Friday’s Morning Joe , Zbigniew Brzezinski and Chuck Todd joined the panel to weigh in. With the Obama administration saying the so-called “red line” has been crossed with the use of chemical weapons, Brzezinski had a critical take. Questioning the “chaotic” response, he harshly observed some “propaganda.” There’s no real strategy, Brzezinski argued, noting that the U.S. is using “slogans” about how many people Bashar Assad ‘s regime has killed — when, in fact, there’s killing on both sides. The White House talks about a red line but does so ambiguously. “It all seems to me rather sporadic, chaotic, unstructured,” he charged. “I don’t see any real strategic guidance to what we’re doing. I see a lot of rhetoric, a lot of emotion, a lot of propaganda, in fact.” To that point, Todd noted that the White House doesn’t see an “end game” in Syria, which is precisely the problem. Brzezinski jumped in to the conversation again, contrasting successful interventions like Bosnia to less unsuccessful ones like Iraq. We should be negotiating with countries like China, Russia, and Japan, he urged. “Instead we’re essentially engaging in mass propaganda portraying this as a democratic war,” he asserted. “Who is fighting for democracy? Qatar and Saudi Arabia are fighting for democracy?” “And why did the president issue that particular red line?” he continued. “On what basis? With what strategic concepts in mind?

Edward Snowden admits he was duped by Obama. Twenty-nine year-old NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden admitted to The Guardian that he mistakenly believed in Obama’s promises on privacy rights. From The Guardian interview, via The Examiner : “A lot of people in 2008 voted for Obama. I did not vote for him. I voted for a third party,” Snowden said in an interview with the Guardian. “But I believed in Obama’s promises. I was going to disclose it [but waited because of his election]. He continued with the policies of his predecessor.” Snowden acknowledged that he watched Obama struggle as he attempted to justify the surveillance programs during his press conference on Friday. “My immediate reaction was he was having difficulty in defending it himself,” Snowden said about Obama. “He was trying to defend the unjustifiable and he knew it.”

In his latest major address on foreign policy, President Obama said, “The Afghan war is coming to an end.” If this and the usual sycophantic news reporting is all you’ve heard lately about the war in Afghanistan, you might think things are going well, that “America’s forces are winning.” But as Sheldon Richman explains, the reality is that the Obama Administration has continuously deceived us about how bad the war in Afghanistan is going. Jay Leno and Snoop Obama ( Wiki ) Jay Leno tore into Barack Obama again last night. It was a beautiful thing. Via NewsBusters : NewsBusters has the transcript: JAY LENO: Well, let’s see what’s going on. Hey, Snoop is back in the news. Not Snoop Dogg, Snoop Obama. Yeah, Snoop Obama. A big change at the White House today. They closed the gift shop and opened a Verizon store. Yeah. Well, this has become a huge controversy after it was revealed that the National Security Agency seized millions of Verizon phone records, and of course this has caused a panic among civil libertarians, constitutional scholars and cheating husbands everywhere. Oh my God. How ironic is that? We wanted a president that listens to all Americans – now we have one. Yeah. Actually, President Obama clarified the situation today. He said no one is listening to your phone calls. The president said it’s not what the program is all about. You know, like the IRS isn’t about targeting certain political groups. That’s not what it’s about! I mean what’s going on? The White House has looked into our phone records, checking our computers, monitoring our e-mails. When did the government suddenly become our psycho ex-girlfriend? When did that happen? When did that happen? When did that happen?
