What A Lawsuit Against The Redskins Could Mean For The Brand

A Cowboys fan has blown up a Tony Romo jersey in a bizarre protest over his side’s recent loss to the Redskins. The unnamed fan wrapped his Romo jersey around a washing machine stuffed with explosives, stood back, and shot it . After two missed shots, the third round hit its target and the explosives did their job. In the footage (viewable below), as the Cowboys fan blows up the Romo jersey, an off-camera voice can be heard pronouncing, “It gawn’!” This fan’s anger was incurred after the Cowboys went down 28-18 to the Redskins, with Tony Romo having a real stinker. Speaking after the game, the obviously disappointed quarterback had manfully admitted : “I feel as though I let our team down. Your legacy will be written when you’re done playing the game.” Romo, who suffered the ignominy of three interceptions during the game (as many as in his last eight games), added: “It’s disappointing not being able to get over that hump, but I also know that football is the ultimate team sport and I need to continue to improve, and our football team does, to get there.” Romo received support from his opposite number, Redskins quarterback Robert Lee Griffin III. Speaking to press after Sunday’s game, RGIII told Romo: “[Don't] listen to what anybody else is saying about you. You’re a great quarterback, man. And this game doesn’t mean anything.” Well, we know one guy who begs to differ with that. Note: the footage below contains big boy words, so

The Redskins will play their biggest game of the season when they host the Giants on Monday Night Football. The Washington Redskins and New York Giants will get reacquainted on Monday night when the two square off at FedEx Field. Unquestionably, this is the biggest game to date for Robert Griffin III and his young team. Washington is looking to keep momentum going after dispatching the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving to run its record to 5-6. Now, Griffin has the Redskins poised to make a playoff push if they can beat the defending Super Bowl champions. New York (7-4) is suddenly also feeling good after destroying the Green Bay Packers 38-10 on Sunday night last weekend. Eli Manning has been up-and-down this season, but played terrific against Aaron Rodgers and company. In the first meeting between these two teams, a classic broke out in an eventual 27-23 Giants victory. Griffin led Washington down the field late and hit Santana Moss with what appeared to be the game-winning touchdown. However, Manning struck back, finding Victor Cruz for a 77-yard score to finish off the Redskins. Game Date/Time Example: Monday, Dec. 3, 8:30 p.m. ET Location FedEx Field, Washington D.C. This video of Brandon Meriweather and Aldrick Robinson was circulating like crazy around the internet yesterday . Safety Brandon Meriweather was set return from a knee injury suffered in the preseason and play in his first game with the Washington Redskins on Sunday in Tampa Bay. But it looks like his first action in 2012 will have to wait a little longer after a pre-game collision with a teammate. Robinson appeared to be knocked out and according to the Washington Times, he laid on the ground for several minutes while trainers attended to him before walking slowly off the field. Meriweather looked to be writing in pain and grabbing the knee that has kept him out the first three weeks. Both guys were inactive, but seem to be OK.

The Cowboys will see Robert Griffin III for the first time on Thursday. The last time Robert Griffin III played a football game in the state of Texas, he was piling up astronomical passing numbers en route to becoming a Baylor legend and a Heisman Trophy winner. On Thursday, he returns as the starting QB of the Washington Redskins , who will play the Dallas Cowboys in their annual Thanksgiving Day game. The Redskins, coming off a 31-6 beating of the Eagles , are one game behind the Cowboys in the suddenly competitive NFC East division race. Dallas, meanwhile, is trying to win their third consecutive game and put a lackluster start to the season behind them. Royster Watch Dorian “The Trashman” Colbert, Rosterwatch.com Nestled somewhere between the fan crush that fantasy columnists have for Roy Helu and the man crush that Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan has for Tim Hightower stands the truth that is second year RB Evan Royster. It has been Royster, not Helu, who has been taking snaps with the first team since Washington began training camp Thursday morning, while Hightower continues to recoup from his 7 month old ACL surgery. Helu has been playing with the second team, an indication that the staff doesn’t see him as an every or early down back. I have to admit, I’ve overlooked Royster. Helu dazzled with suprising burst and vision when he came on the scene last year, and he was the kind of “come from nowhere” player that the Trashman loves to plug and play. It was Royster though, who finished the season starting for the ‘Skins with a 113 yards on the ground and 52 in the air during Week 17 against the Eagles. The former high school lacrosse standout and Penn State all-time leading rusher looks like he’s taking that momentum into the 2012 season. And though Hightower projects to get the first crack at the starting job come game time, if he’s healthy, Royster could end up being the go to guy sooner than later. After all, no one believes Hightower will make it a whole season on that leg, and Helu just can’t seem to stick as the lead runner. We’re still waiting for the dust to settle, an

Brandon Meriweather signs with Redskins, hopes they play in London so he can revisit the “Big Bang Clock”

According to Jason LaCanfora, it’s a 2 year deal worth $ 6 million. In the last seven months, Meriweather has been cut from one team and had another show zero interest in bringing him back for a second season. Although talented, Meriweather has red flags galore, running the gamut from a shooting, to kicking opposing players in an onfield brawl at Miami, to repeated fines for helmet-to-helmet hits, to other bizarre associations with seedy types . I get that the Redskins need safeties, but as my buddy Jason Brewer from Bleeding Green Nation noted , I think I agree that if Meriweather is the alternative, I’d rather have just kept Oshiomogho Atogwe.
