Jake Roh has verbally committed to the Broncos! The 6'3" 210 lb TE/OLB picked the Broncos over the Iowa Hawkeyes. Roh is a talented LB and WR, so no official word on which position he was recruited for, but I have a hunch he might stay on the offensive side of the line. The Chaparral (AZ) athlete had offers from Arizona, Duke, Iowa, Nevada, Oregon State, SDSU and Washington State

Serena Williams was fined $ 2,000 by the United States Tennis Association f or he r verbal tirade towards umpire Eva Asderaki during Sunday’s 2011 U.S. Open finals match against Australian Samantha Stosur. Asderaki rewarded Stosur a point, invoking the hindrance rule after Williams yelled "come on!" during play after ripping a forehand winner in the first game of the second set of the match. The point gave Stosur the game which, as you can see below, Williams was unhappy about. After the match, Williams said that she couldn’t recall the rant , during which she called the Asderaki a "hater," "unattractive on the inside" and "a loser." While the point was contentious, the match as a whole was less so. Williams bowed out 2-6, 3-6 to the 9th-seeded Stosur, who broke Williams’ serve twice in each set. Of course, this isn’t the first time Williams has gotten in a tizzy over an umpire’s call at the U.S. Open, and then conveniently failed to recall the event afterwards.
