If Obama Were a CEO, Government Would Hold Him Responsible for Scandals

Jewel Samad/AFP/Getty Images Over the past week, the Obama Administration has been hit with scandal after scandal. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) apologized for targeting conservative organizations , the State Department covered up its reaction to Benghazi , the Department of Justice (DOJ) secretly seized phone records of AP reporters , and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) asked health industry officials for contributions to implement the Affordable Care Act . With these scandals arising, the question becomes, “Is President Obama responsible?” As of right now, there has been no link identified between the White House and these situations, nor is there evidence that Obama had any direct knowledge of the alleged wrongdoing. Does this mean that he is not responsible? Nobody is remotely suggesting that, absent his direct involvement , the President should be prosecuted for the misdeeds of those who work in the executive branch. It is interesting to note, however — by way of analogy only — that under the DOJ’s standard of “responsibility,” if President Obama were the head of a corporation, he would be responsible and could be prosecuted. The Responsible Corporate Officer Doctrine allows federal prosecutors to criminally prosecute business owners and officers for the criminal activity of their businesses, regardless of whether they had knowledge of the illegal activity. The only requirement for criminal liability i

Immediately following her guilty verdict today, Jodi Arias spoke with FOX 10 Arizona about the verdict and what her sentence will be. Arias revealed that she would prefer to get a death sentence as opposed to life in prison. Arias was asked about what the “worst outcome” would be for her in the sentencing. She said that it would be to live out the rest of her life in prison. “The worst outcome for me would be natural life. I would much rather die sooner than later. Longevity runs in my family, and I don’t want to spend the rest of my natural life in one place. You know I’m pretty healthy, I don’t smoke, and I would probably live a long time. So that’s not something I’m looking forward to. I said years ago that I’d rather get death than life, and that’s still true today. I believe that death is the ultimate freedom, so I’d rather just have my freedom as soon as I can get it.” Watch the video below, courtesy of FOX 10-Phoenix:

UNIVERSITY PARK, Texas — Former President George W. Bush says he isn’t interested in playing on the national political stage any longer. But for family, he’s making an exception. Asked in an interview with ABC News’ Diane Sawyer whether he thinks his brother former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush should run for president in 2016, the ex-president was unequivocal. “He’d be a marvelous candidate if he chooses to do so. He doesn’t need my counsel ’cause he knows what it is, which is ‘run,’ ” the elder Bush brother said about Jeb’s possible candidacy, in an interview that first aired Wednesday on “World News with Diane Sawyer.” “But whether he does or not, it’s a very personal decision.” George W. It would be a family rematch of the 1992 election, when George H.W. Bush lost to Bill Clinton. “It’ll be a fantastic photo here. It would certainly eclipse the museum and the center,” Bush said on the eve of the formal opening of the George W. Bush Presidential Center at Southern Methodist University, just outside Dallas. “I’m interested in politics. I’m, you know, I’m fascinated by all the gossip and stuf

Source: www.towleroad.com – Sunday, April 14, 2013 So this happened : The 19-year-old is due to perform tonight in Arnhem, around an hour from Amsterdam, where the Anne Frank House is situated, and visited the museum on Saturday night. Staff from the museum wrote on their Facebook page : “Yesterday night Justin Bieber visited the Anne Frank House, together with his friends and guards. “Fans were waiting outside to see a glimpse of him. He stayed more than an hour in the museum. “In our guestbook he wrote: ‘Truly inspiring to be able to come here. Anne was a great girl. Hopefully she would have been a belieber.’” A ‘belieber’ is the name given to the singer’s fans.

Posted on ANDPOP : Yes, you read that correctly. While in the the Netherlands Friday night, the Biebs took a break from his tour to visit the Anne Frank House. After staying for over an hour, he left this heartfelt message in the guestbook: “Truly inspiring to be able to come here. Anne was a great girl. Hopefully she would have been a belieber.” The Anne Frank House then posted his message along with some other details about his visit on their Facebook page (as they have done with messages from other celebrities in the past) and it wasn’t long before people began criticizing the 19-year-old’s choice of words. I do think it’s a little bizarre that the first thing he thought of when pondering the details Anne Frank’s life was whether or not she would be a fan of his music, but after all, he did build his career on the dedication of young fans, so the comment was probably just a way of personalizing his message. Maybe not the most appropriate way to do so, but let’s face it, we’re talking about Justin Bieber. “Appropriate” no longer applies. And if she were living in the context of our times, I’m sure Anne would have at least loved “Beauty and a Beat.” Who doesn’t? Read more at ANDPOP . ANDPOP – We find the best of the internet
