The former governor of Illinois Rod Blagojevich was convicted by a jury of multiple counts of corruption, including the charge that he tried to sell or trade President Barack Obama’s Senate seat. Blagojevich was elected twice as governor of the state, but he now faces up to 300 years in jail. It’s unlikely he’ll get a sentence that long, however. He’s not violent. His crimes happen when he’s allowed to talk on the phone. The governor said he is very disappointed in the outcome of the trial, which is not surprising.
